ERA Tough Mudders raise funds for the Wounded Warriors Project

On May 18th, Team ERA Mudders completed a Tough Mudder in Jacksonville, Fl.  Four hours. Twelve miles.  Working as a team to make it through obstacles like Everest, the Gauntlet, and ElectroShock Therapy.

The day was a culmination of months of training –  to prepare for an event where the challenges are are as much mental as physical.

Stephanie Bellanova, Linda Shinn and Jennifer Razoux represented ERA Central Realty Group in Jacksonville with the full support of their NJ team behind them.

“In my leadership position, I’m always heading up the team. The Mudder taught me that it’s OK not to have it ‘all together,’ and that sometimes leaders need to rely on others for help.”  Stephanie Bellanova.

The ERA Mudders did more than rock the course, they raised more than $7,500 to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project. To date, Tough Mudder participants have raised over $5 million to support thousands of warriors returning from the battlefield.

Every dollar raised for the WWP is well spent

  • Providing combat stress recovery programs
  • Adaptive sports programs
  • Benefits counseling
  • Employment services

These programs and services aid in brave Americans’ transition from service-connected injury to civilian life.

In training and fundraising for the Mudder, Stephanie and Linda demonstrated the core belief that drives us at ERA Central.  We strive everyday to be part of something bigger.    It’s a goal that isn’t possible without relying on your team.

“Talk about a life-changing event! I participated in this Tough Mudder to be part of something bigger for ERA and the Wounded Warrior Project and if has forever changed my outlook on teamwork and reaching outside of my comfort zone.  So thankful to have been part of it!” – Stephanie Bellanova

Regrouping and rebuilding…after Sandy.

The real devastation from Hurricane Sandy might be happening as you read this.  It’s been more than a week – and some families haven’t been able to even see their homes yet.  It’s cold.  It’s snowing right now.  Some of you have been home and have had to grab a bag and go.  Some of you have just stood where your home used to be.

Real estate is the work we do every single day, and it has never been this real.   We’ve talked to so many people today who have lost their homes – some for months, and some forever.    No talk of square footage and master baths – only memories.   The space to just be a family.  Video tapes of a son who has passed…were they high enough to escape the water?   The photo albums…are they there? Is anything there?  I just need to get my kids back with me.   Can we just go home?

I wish you could.  Today was a good day – we helped families find a place to go.  More tomorrow, and the next and the next.   We aren’t going to forget about you, you’re part of our family now too.  If we haven’t called you yet, we will.  There are so many agents working to find a place for you.  It may not be home – but for now, it might be just enough.

If you are reading this because you want to help a family, please let us know about immediate rentals available in Monmouth and Ocean Counties, or if you would like to join us to support individual families in furnishing their rental homes.

If you must stay closer to the shore, please click here for local rental information.

You can reach us by filling out the form below, emailing us at help@eracentral.com  or call (609) 298-4800.     If you have a home to rent that is available now, please email or call with the information so we can put your home on the list and connect you with a family in need.

We know that a roof over your head doesn’t make it home – but it’s a place to start.

Stay strong, New Jerseyans – and know your state has your back.

***Please give as much detail as you can about what you need in a home (how many bedrooms, do you have pets and what kind?, what you can afford per month) as well as the areas you’ll consider so we can do preliminary research before calling you back.
