Identity theft is one of the fastest growing non-violent crimes in America. It impacts nearly 9 million victims each year, and approximately 75% of cases are a result of paper documents getting into the wrong hands. Proper destruction of confidential documents is a critical step in ensuring members of the community do not become victims of identity theft.

A community shred sponsored by ERA Central Realty Group makes it possible for members of the community to reduce their exposure to identity theft risk by having their personal and confidential materials securely destroyed in a PROSHRED® state-of-the-art mobile shredding trucks.

The truck shredder can shred up to 5,500 pounds of paper per hour into a fine, cross-shred size. The contents of a guest’s box will be emptied into a secure 96 gallon wheeled cart by a certified and highly trained customer service professional that has undergone a criminal background check and routine drug testing. The cart will be mechanically lifted to the shredder and the contents destroyed. Guests can watch their their documents being destroyed via a closed circuit TV screen.

The shredded documents are transported to a recycling facility in southern New Jersey, where it will be baled and sent to a mill to be pulped. 100% of the shredded material will be recycled. One ton of recycled paper saves 17 mature trees.
