Jamesburg is located in Middlesex County, NJ and was incorporated as a township in 1887. The town got its name from James Buckelew, an influential farmer and businessman. Buckelew built a schoolhouse in Jamesburg that was opened to all children. The family home is in Buckalew Park.

The town has much history, the most notable being the first ever canned tomatoes being produced there, allowing the rest of the world to enjoy Jersey tomatoes.
